No more gas, no plastic, factories shut down, large farms shut down because they can't sell their product to the masses. Things become more like industrial age. People start relying on other energy sources like wind, water, and solar. Plastic becomes valuable, people mine it in he landfills, it can be recycled and turned back into gas. Without pollution, the icecaps regrow, making the world colder.

There becomes a huge rebellion where the politicians pay with their lives. Factions start up. The rich, take their money and buy as much as they can before it becomes worthless. The military without politicians becomes dominant, though they are more of a foot soldiers than a army, they rely on the rich for futuristic weapons which are available but are rare.

The Rich seclude themselves and find love within the family, They become very inbred. Making poor decisions and loosing their fortunes. Becoming eccentric as well, Creating fortresses hiring the military for protection in exchange for weapons. They become working with AI, cyborgs, and robots,

The poor and middle class are stuck in cities, which eventually fail since they don't have any more power, people scatter, and die from lack of food and plagues, those that stay band together, and create gangs. Not violent gangs but more protective. Drugs slowly die out, since travel is dead. People use resources at hand and start make shifting from scrap, cities become junkyards with a steampunk aspect.
